Popcorn
While in Iowa we were able to go to Dan and Dale's (two of Randy's brothers) garden they have behind their shop. We were able to pick and eat strawberries, and Uncle Dan pick an ear of popcorn for us to bring back to New York. So we brought it back and just last Friday we shelled our cob of popcorn and then tonight (Sun) we popped it and ate it. Dan had said when the corn was at 13% moisture it was time to pop it, Randy said he'd take full responsibility in declaring the moisture content of our popcorn. And he must have done all right because it was very good.

we have some friends here that grow their own popcorn. i want to try growing it some time. our garden was a disappointment this year though. maybe i better figure out why my tomatoes had a blight before i try growing popcorn!
