Camping at Green Lakes

May 30-June1 we went camping!  After years of saying, "We should go camping."  We finally did. It was great.  Luke didn't always make it easy but I guess that's his job, while being 11/2 and he slept like a champ - we were very thankful for that!  This picture is the first night, getting our first campfire of the weekend ready.

Saturday morning Randy is cooking some greasy sausage for us, hence the flames in our screen room!

Time to eat! Max, Alex, Randy, Sophia, Timmy and Henry cheesing it up for me.

Lukey at breakfast.

Not too long after breakfast we headed for the beach. It was the highlight of the weekend for most of the kids.  There's Henry,  Sophia, Timmy and Max braving the chilly water.

Lukey loved the water. And it was great to be able to let him run and splash and play. He seemed to have a great time.  It was a great day to be on the beach, but a little cool in the water for the adults.

Sophia built a lot of sandcastles, collected rocks and played on the beach, while her brothers splashed around.  She and I made the above sandcastle.  Later she added a snowman made of sand.

Timmy enjoyed running to the sidewalk at the edge of the beach then running back into the water.  Here he is at the end of his run!

Timmy, Max, Henry and Alex plotting something.

Randy, Max, Alex and I played the farming game Sat. night.  We had so much fun.  Randy won by a lot!!!!  His last year was amazing.  This game Randy got as a thank you, complete with color form pieces.

Ending Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend flew by.  Friday we had the honor of being our friend's baby's godparents.  Saturday we took the kids to the Lego store in Victor, and Sunday we celebrated our anniversary by letting Alex have some friends spend the night.  So Monday we ended the day with some time around the house and grilling.  Here are Sophia and Timmy on the tire swing together.

Alex, Randy and Max having another.

Congratulations Alex!

Last month Alex was accepted to the National Junior Honor Society.  Randy, Max, and I attended his induction ceremony.  It was quite an honor for Alex and we're so proud of him.  I, of course, forgot the camera, so imagine Alex in black pants, white shirt, and black tie, smiling with his certificate of acceptance.  Yea, Alex!!
